Katonah goes silent…
Dear Friends,
Tonight i had the chance to talk to Scott Pirus, part owner/manager from the Katonah Grill. He filled me in on the recent decision from our illustrious town board to revoke their cabaret license. What this means is there will be no more live music played at the Katonah Grill. No more great open mic blues music on Wednesday nights, no more outstanding cover bands like Katonah’s very own Jake and the Mountain Men (shameless plug) or any other great music. The Town Board decided to pull their license even though the grill has never received any tickets, summons’ or any other type of legal action. Any noise complaint was determined to be “unfounded” by local police investigating in the surrounding neighborhoods. Any suggestions that the town or local police ever gave to them was handled above and beyond what they had to do.
So save the date January 15th; the board has given the owners and operators of the Katonah Grill a chance to appeal their decision. Maybe you can come out and support. Let the town know that the Grill is not supported by a bunch of kids that are two minutes past 21 years old, but by men and women that grew up here: Local firemen, EMT’s, teachers, public workers, blue collar people that used to be the back bone of this town, and remember what that place was like before the Katonah Bar & Grill took over. Adults that like to unwind a little bit after work and play some guitar at an open mic night, or old friends catching up over a few drinks while local musicians play them songs so they could have fun and forget about work for awhile.
Any-who, that’s my rant. Please feel free to write to the Town Board and tell them just how wrong they are. Or maybe the record-review? If you need any details or anything, comment below. I will be in touch in a few weeks to give details about the meeting. We’re looking to show up in numbers. Any support will be greatly appreciated.

Katonah Grill 12/17/07: Post-Mortem
Just when we thought that Central Park was our best show ever, a night like last night comes along and kicks our opinions’ asses.
It’s a fairly safe bet that we cracked the foundation at the Katonah Grill last night. Those who came witnessed one of our best performances to date. Thank you, every one of you who came and partied like rock stars. Massive amounts of alcohol were consumed; it was a good night for the bar as well.
Getting encored in Guitar Hero™ is highly enjoyable, but getting encored at The Grill is astounding. We love our fans.

Open Mic Night @ Victor’s 11/1/07: Post-Mortem
Victor’s is a very cool place right in the middle of Hawthorne. Dino used to play there years ago with Rock Culture. They are just about done renovating the place, and we hope to play there sometime in December.
We’d like to thank Rebel for inviting us to the open mic night this past Thursday. If you’ve got nothing to do on a Thursday night, stop by. There’s a lot of great local talent out there! We had a kickass time playing a few acoustic numbers for everyone, as well as drinking heavily. Friday morning was certainly a tough one.

The show was loud. We don’t know what happened, maybe we couldn’t hear through our wigs, latex any vinyl. But if your ears are still ringing, imagine what ours sound like. We had a lot of fun. Nick Gretina Music Festival 9/15/07: Post Mortem
This was a show full of apologies, but it was a good show nonetheless. From us apologizing to our fans for going on stage three hours late (not our fault), to us apologizing for our singer who put his foot in his mouth (our fault), this show somehow still kicked ass.
Many hot dogs and burgers were eaten. The weather was perfect until the sun went down. The PA system left a lot to be desired, but we made the best out of it that we could. We decided we would never play without Pete, our sound-man, ever again. Musically, we sounded better than ever. We rocked. Thanks to those of you who stuck around! We’ll see you back at Foley’s.
